Unions are a new feature in TrainStation 2 introduced in version 1.49.0 in early June 2022. In a union, a player can chat with other players in the same union, take part in union competitions, and purchase items in the Union Shop. The Union can be accessed via the Union menu at the right-hand side of the screen or by tapping on the union building west to the Station.

Joining and Leaving a Union[]

A player can choose to join an already-existing union by searching for them. They can then tap on a union's name and choose to join. The player can also get an invitation to join a union, which they can choose to reject. If the player wishes to leave the union, they can simply tap on "Leave". However, if the player is the president of the union, they cannot leave unless they are its only member or they have promoted a member into a president before leaving. If the only member of a union is the president, leaving it will result in the union disbanding.

Creating a Union[]

A player can also create a union, provided they aren't in one yet, for 3,000 Gold Coin. By tapping on "Create", they will be directed to another menu, where they can create their union. They can set its name, logo, and description. Furthermore, they can also set the minimum level, from which other players can join, its language, and its type. There are three types of unions:

  • Open, where anyone can join at any time;
  • Private, where a player needs to send a request in order to join; and
  • Closed, where a player needs to be invited by the union member in order to join.

Promotion and Demotion of Union Members[]

In a union, the Vice-President and President of a union can promote the union's members. Promoting them increases their rank, while demoting them lowers it. Members from rank Manager can also kick out other member from the union.

Union Chat[]

The union has a chat feature, where members can chat. Besides that, details on promotion or demotion of members, also requests for joining the union are also visible in the chat.

Union Competitions[]

There will also be competitions between unions, allowing members to win Union Coins. Formerly, they occurred during any competition in the game and a union had to have at least ten members in order to join. However, in phase 2, a competition now takes place every 7 days in Union Regions. Formerly, it has 6 days of competition and a day for cooldown. However, as of Summer Season 2023, union competition lasts for 6 days and 18 hours, with only six hours of cooldown. The change is done in order to minimize the possibility of claiming Union job rewards while not in a competition.[1] Furthermore, a union no longer needs to have a minimum of ten member in order to participate.[2]

Union Shop[]

The Union Shop is a shop where players can buy items in exchange for Union Coins, Union Bucks, and Gems. The shop formerly refreshed weekly. However, they are now daily offers[3], whose items include Gold Coins, Containers, Upgrade Parts, etc. There are limits to how many times one can buy the item. There will also be an item which can only be obtained once in exchange for watching a video advertisement. As of Phase 2, the player can also buy union trains and hire union dispatchers in the union shop.

Union Trains[]

Union locomotives are only available to purchase in the union shop. However, they can also be used outside the union region. Like event trains, once they are purchased, they are added to the player's current region's locomotive collection. They exist in different rarities (Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary) and power (Steam, Electric, and Diesel). Along with regular upgrade parts and coins, they also require union upgrade parts[4]. These offers refresh every time a season changes.

Union Dispatchers[]

Union dispatchers are dispatchers who will work exclusively in Union Regions. Like regular dispatchers, a player starts with three and can hire more permanently (with gems or Union Bucks) or temporarily (with Gems or by watching an advertisement)[5].

Union Regions[]

As of Phase 2, there are now Union Regions. Like event regions changing every month, union regions change every season. There, union members can work together to complete union jobs[6].

Seasons[]

A season lasts for 12 weeks (which is split into three active parts) followed by a 4-day expiration period. Each active part is four weeks long and has a Seasonal Pass, where you earn rewards by collecting SP (Seasonal Points) similar to an Event Pass[7].

Union Trade Center[]

The trade center allows a player to exchange non-union items with union items. The exchange offers refresh at a set amount of time and it can be sped up with gems[8].

Trivia[]

  • The Union building used to be west of the Warehouse. As of version 2.10.0, it now lies west of the Station and has an updated appearance.
